Does the GRI Secretariat provide consulting services on reporting?

 

No. The Secretariat is determined to remain absolutely independent, and sees providing consulting services on its own Guidelines as a conflict of interest. Please keep this in mind if it should arise that the Secretariat cannot engage with you about your report at the level of detail you would like! In the end, taking this position is an important part of building and maintaining our credibility as the trusted and independent provider of the world’s only set of Sustainability Reporting Guidelines.

 

Does the GRI Secretariat assure sustainability reports based on the Guidelines?

 

No. The Secretariat’s sticks to the development and continuous improvement of the Reporting Guidelines and does not engage in any assurance, auditing, verification, certification, or consulting activities.

 

Does GRI offer training on reporting or how to use the Guidelines?

 

Yes. GRI has created, and is continuously expanding, its curriculum for in-person and on-line learning programs and other resources. GRI has partnered with leading training institutions worldwide who deliver GRI curriculum, and customize it for their unique markets. By using a recognized GRI Learning Partner you can be certain that you are getting accurate information about the GRI Reporting Framework and cutting edge information on best practice in reporting no matter what sector you are in, or where you are.

 

Does GRI provide software to help reporting based on its Guidelines?

 

No, but it has partnered with leading software providers worldwide to ensure they have accurately encompassed the Guidelines into their solutions. By using a GRI-recognized Technology Partner you can have confidence that you are using the approved digital version of the G3 Guidelines and other Reporting Framework components.

 

Will GRI check my self-declared Application Level?

 

Yes. If you would like an opinion on the Application Level you have declared associated with your report, contact GRI to request this service. There is a small fee for this service, however it is waived for GRI Organizational Stakeholders. A unique icon is provided by GRI upon completion of the Application Level check that can be used in print an online publications. Request an Application Level check.
