About the project
The need to bring greater transparency to the supply chain is a challenge faced by large companies all around the world.
GRI wants to support large companies and their suppliers to face this challenge through its Global Action Network for Transparency in the Supply Chain. This important new initiative will give large companies the opportunity to provide support to their suppliers, enabling the embedding of a transparent sustainability reporting framework throughout the supply chain.
Through this Global Action Network, large companies will be able to offer GRI-certified training and one-on-one support to their Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) suppliers in preparing a GRI G3 sustainability report.
This initiative is a result of the great success of the GRI/GTZ Transparency in the Supply Chain project. This project allowed 11 SME supplier companies across six countries, in partnership with their buyers (Daimler, Otto Group, Puma, and Telefonica), to produce GRI G3 sustainability reports.
