Type

All GRI Performance Indicators are designated as either “core” or “additional.”

Core Indicators are those identified in the Guidelines to be of interest to most stakeholders and are assumed to be material unless deemed otherwise on the basis of applying the GRI Reporting Principles.

Additional Indicators are those identified in the Guidelines that represent emerging practice, or address topics that may be material to some organizations but not generally for a majority.

Indicators contained in Sector Supplements are considered core.
