Academic Conference

The GRI Global Conference on Sustainability and Transparency will include an academic conference organized in cooperation with the University of Amsterdam Business School. The academic conference will be an integrated component of the overall conference, therefore offering the opportunity for interaction and exchange between academics and practitioners.

The academic conference will consist of two main elements. A series of debates among speakers, which will focus attention on important sustainability/CSR reporting topics. These interactive sessions will bring together prominent established scholars and younger researchers under four specific themes:

In addition, poster presentations will provide opportunities for younger and senior scholars to discuss their latest research. The posters will be placed in the same rooms where lunch will be served and breaks take place. This will facilitate informal and relaxed discussions around the boards and the sustainability, reporting, and transparency issues they present.

Unlike other conferences, there will be no paper sessions, so all those who want to present their work at this conference will participate in poster presentations. The Academic Conference is open to academic research on the broad topic of sustainability/CSR reporting and transparency. The deadline for submitting abstracts passed on 8 December 2007. Please note that we can no longer accept applications.

Twelve students and scholars from different parts of the world have been selected to present their research during the poster session. In the selection process preference has been given to work that contains high-quality empirical studies. A full list of topics covered will be posted here soon.
