Academic Conference
Session 4: GRI as an Institution
Friday 9 May
9.30-11.00
Hotel Okura - Esperance
The Global Reporting Initiative has rapidly become the most widely used framework for sustainability reporting. Academics have investigated the emergence of GRI as an institution, and the implications that it has had on companies’ reporting strategies, and more generally. This session will reflect on these issues, and present evidence from studies on GRI from the perspective of institutional entrepreneurship using inclusiveness and multi-stakeholder participation to affect social change.
