Activities Report 2005: GRI's biggest multi-stakeholder process ever

Spanning one full year, involving 200 experts worldwide, the G3 multi-stakeholder concensus seeking process goes down in GRI history as being the most intensive consultation process ever.

100 people were directly involved in the working group system. They were organized into 8 different groups - the Reporting as a Process Working Group (RPWG), the Indicators Working Group (IWG), and the six Issue Specific Advisory Groups that worked with the IWG. After hundreds of hours of meetings, phone calls, consultations, and research, the working groups came up with a draft of the G3 Guidelines by year's end.

In addition to this group, a Practitioners Network was established. This group of 75 met only via E-mail and provided advice, resources, surveys, and other information when called upon by the working groups. Also, a consultation group of mainstream buy and sell side investors discussed how sustainability may become more essential to the financial markets.

Read the 2005 Activities Reportto learn more about the achievements of the working groups, and how they helped shape the future of sustainability reporting.
