December has been another busy month for GRI outreach. GRI’s Technical Director, Sean Gilbert has made a whirlwind tour in Asia where he attended a CBCC seminar in Tokyo and combined it with a trip to New Delhi, India. In India, GRI ran an interactive regional workshop on approaches to reporting community impacts. The aim of the event was to find out different stakeholder views on how to better define expectations for organizational reporting on community performance.
Meanwhile, GRI’s Deputy Chief Executive was in Brussels for Beyond GDP, a high level conference organized by the European Commission, European Parliament, Club of Rome, OECD and WWF.
GRI’s SME and Supply Chain Program Manager Leontien Plugge attended the launch of the world’s first aggregated sustainability report by an SME cluster in Chile and the IADB conference in Guatemala. Both of the events focused on the important issue of SME reporting.
Closer to home, a successful GRI briefing was held in London in partnership with ACCA and Arthur D Little. The event featured a presentation by GRI’s Ralph Thurm updating participants on the work of GRI.
