Get involved in the Mining & Metals Sector Supplement Working Group

In February 2005, GRI published the Mining & Metals Sector Supplement (Pilot Version 1.0), which was developed through a GRI-led collaborative process between the GRI and ICMM (International Council on Mining & Metals). In light of changes in the reporting landscape GRI and ICMM have decided to collaborate to progress the pilot version to a final version of the Mining & Metals Sector Supplement. A multi-stakeholder Working Group responsible for designing the final version of the Sector Supplement is currently being recruited.

The Working Group will consist of minimum of 14 people of which 50% will come from Metals & Mining companies and 50% will be drawn from other stakeholder organizations. The group will also reflect different geographic regions. Participants will meet once or twice over the one year revision period and in between the meetings will use other ways of communicating, such as telephone conferences and email correspondence.

As usual, for those who wish to follow the development of this final Sector Supplement and be available as external resources there is also the opportunity to get involved in the Practitioners’ Network.

If you are interested in more information or wish to nominate yourself for the Working Group or Practitioners’ Network, please submit the completed Candidate Information Form to the GRI Secretariat by Friday 23 May 2008.
