On the 6-7 March 2008 GRI Associate, Teodorina Lessidrenska, travelled with GRI Research Officer Joris Wiemer to Istanbul to attend an event hosted by the Turkish Business Council for Sustainable Development, the Corporate Governance Association of Turkey, Yased (International Investors Association) and the Istanbul Stock Exchange. Teodorina Lessidrenska gave a presentation on GRI to the diverse audience of both top level decision makers and reporting practitioners. The main questions on both days revolved around assurance, stakeholder engagement and GRI linkage to other initiatives such as the UN Global Compact and SA8000.
In addition, GRI Director Sean Gilbert travelled to give a presentation at Chatham House in the UK, home of the Royal Institute of International Affairs and the world famous Chatham House Rule. Sean Gilbert spoke on a session entitled “Financing the Future” at Chatham House’s 10th Annual Corporate Responsibility Conference “Corporate Responsibility 2008: Sustaining Momentum and Responsible Growth”.
