While Spanish companies are increasing their world share of sustainability reports, local report readers have shown they are keeping pace by submitting the highest number of responses to the Global Reporting Initiative’s (GRI) Readers’ Choice Awards of any country.
Of more than 1,700 individuals worldwide who logged in to score reports, 490 were from Spain, representing nearly one third of total respondents. These scores will contribute to awards in nine categories based on reader groups.
Furthermore, 11 of the 78 reports that made the short-list for this unique award originated from Spain. The short-list was drawn from an original 800 reports entered, based on the number of scores they attracted.
During the scoring process, respondents completed a survey on what they think of sustainability reporting today. With nearly 2,300 responses, this is the most global and comprehensive survey on reporting ever done. The results will be presented at The Amsterdam Global Conference on Sustainability and Transparency (May 7-9 2008).
