What is RSS?

RSS stands for Really Simple Syndication. RSS is a technology that delivers news to you instead of you looking for it. Many websites include this functionality as a way to inform you of content updates. You can use an RSS aggregator on your desktop or in your browser to read these news items. RSS aggregators are useful in that you can subscribe to multiple news sources and pull them all into one list.

What do I need to use RSS?

In order to read RSS you need an RSS Reader/Aggregator. Most browsers now include this, like Internet Explorer 7 and Mozilla Firefox. You then subscribe to the website from which you want to receive content, and the information will be delivered automatically to your RSS reader.
