The European Academy of Business in Society (EABIS) announced on 17 June 2009 that, with the recent addition of GRI, it has now reached the landmark figure of 100 institutional members. The announcement was made by EABIS President Gilbert Lenssen during the Society’s 3rd Annual Leaders Forum in Brussels. The partnership between the two organizations is more than a numerical milestone and represents an opportunity for both organizations to exploit the benefits of a strategic partnership in the field of Sustainability / Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).

The new partnership with GRI reflects the increasingly global reach and scope of EABIS and of the CSR / Sustainability agenda itself. Both organizations share a strategic interest in one of the more urgent debates of today, namely the role of business in shaping new frameworks of governance that will protect against a repeat of the economic crisis and lay the foundation for sustainable value creation and growth.
