An article published in Razão Social of Jornal O Globo on 6 April 2009 describes how GRI Organizational Stakeholder ABRADEE  (Association of Brazilian Energy Distributors) (OS Member) led a program to get energy distributors in Brazil reporting according to the GRI Guidelines. The association gathered 32 professionals from 26 energy distributors to attend an official course consisting of detailed workshops to discuss the G3 Guidelines (Principles, Indicators, Sector Supplement etc).  This initiative resulted in 15 sustainability reports from this sector in Brazil alone last year. The positive impact is also evident in the Sao Paulo Stock Exchange Sustainability Index - from 38 listed companies, 11 are from this sector.
