Mike Wallace, who has almost 20 years experience providing strategic advisory services to corporations, governments and NGOs seeking to develop sustainability initiatives, will commence working for GRI as the Director of Sustainability Reporting Framework from 1 September 2009. Mike is to be Sean Gilbert’s successor in this post.
Mike’s vast experience - with organizations including Environmental Resources Management (ERM), Business for Social Responsibility (BSR) and California Center for Land Recycling (CCLR), as well as with running his own consultancy practice - enables him to integrate an exceptional understanding of environmental, social & governance issues with proven management consulting expertise.
Mike will be responsible for the GRI’s Sustainability Reporting Framework (SuRF), which represents the principal vehicle for the pursuit of GRI’s mission. He will be directly responsible for the activities of the SuRF Team, which is charged with maintaining the integrity and the development of the SuRF.
Mike will also represent GRI externally to various institutions with regards to the application and development of the SuRF specifically and the development of sustainability reporting in general.
