Become a GRI certified sustainability professional

With two flexible learning routes to choose from – online self-paced via the GRI Academy (route A) or blended and instructor-led (route B) – our Professional Certification program provides a unique opportunity to gain expertise and global recognition in sustainability reporting with the GRI Standards.

The program is comprised of four courses:

1. Introduction to sustainability reporting and the GRI Standards

2. Reporting with GRI Standards

3. Reporting on Human Rights with GRI Standards

4. Integrating the SDGs into sustainability reporting

and a final certification exam.

By completing the courses and the exam, you will obtain the ‘GRI Certified Sustainability Professional’ status, which is valid for one year. Your certification can be renewed by earning 4 Continuing Education Units (CEUs), awarded when you complete additional GRI Academy training courses.

GRI Community

Every GRI Community membership for organizations includes at least one complimentary enrollment in the GRI Professional Certification Program, valued at €1250 if purchased separately. Please note, that being a GRI Community member is only accessible for organizations, and is not the same as being a GRI Certified Sustainability Professional.
