Based on a set of criteria, GRI selects organizations to partner with for the purpose of providing practical trainings on how to use the GRI Guidelines and the GRI Reporting Process for sustainability reporting. GRI Training Partners are located all around the world and conduct GRI certified training courses which are customized for local markets.
In order to apply for becoming a GRI Certified Training Partner, an organization should either be based in the country which it is applying for or should have a significant client base in the country chosen for application. In cases where the organization is not based in the country in question, GRI will request information on the work the organization does in this country. This work needs to be related to sustainability reporting, CSR, accountability, transparency, and ethics.
Training Partners should be organizations with ethical reputation and a demonstrable history of GRI reporting. They should also have the following attributes:
GRI accepts duly completed application forms for those countries that are currently open for application (see GRI website for an overview of relevant countries).
The Certified Training Program includes face-to-face courses offered through GRI’s Certified Training Partners that thoroughly focus on the background of GRI, understanding of GRI Standards & the Sustainability Reporting process. The courses under the GRI Certified Training Program include case studies and examples from the specific country/region where the courses are offered.
The e-Learning program focuses at the wider audience through online educational material with global examples and case studies.
