From September 2012 to March 2013, GRI conducted research to explore the different ways in which GRI reporters are currently experimenting with the concept of integration. The research investigated the types of organizations, countries and sectors that are experimenting with integrated reporting. It also explored the different ways in which integrated reports are taking shape: the variety of titles, expressed intentions, different structures, and lengths. The sample reports used in the research are self-declared integrated reports in GRI’s database from 2010-2012. Special focus was given to trends in Australia and South Africa.
The research results were issued in a publication, The sustainability content of integrated reports – a survey of pioneers
, which was launched at the GRI Conference on Sustainability and Reporting in May 2013. Download publication >
