Outcomes of the GANTSCh Supplier Events in October
03 November 2010

GRI is pleased to announce new developments in the current phase of building sustainability reporting capacity within the supply chains of large multinationals. In this current phase, a total of 34 suppliers of PUMA, EDP and Natura Cosmetics will undergo their sustainability reporting journey as part of the Global Action Network for Transparency in the Supply Chain (GANTSCh) Program across eight countries.
The GRI Certified SME training for suppliers of Puma and EDP commenced on 5 and 6 October in Pretoria, South Africa and on 28 and 29 October in Coimbra, Portugal. The Certified Trainings were facilitated by members of GRI’s Certified Training Partner Network. In South Africa, Environmental & Sustainability Solutions (ESS) facilitated the training, while GRI’s first Portugal based training partner, KPMG Adisory Consultores de Gestão was contracted to facilitate the training in Portugal.

This new batch of trained suppliers now joins the previous group of Natura Cosmetics’ Brazilian-based suppliers and PUMA’s Asian-based suppliers, which successfully completed the Certified Training during July and September 2010, respectively. Over the course of the next 9 months, local sustainability consultants will facilitate the suppliers to reach their goal of launching their first GRI Level C sustainability report.
