7th webinar in the GRI Expert Series: Building Leadership for Sustainable Businesses

Investor relations play a critical role in responding to the increasing demand for sustainability information, conveying investor feedback to company management and the board, and addressing communication gaps. Given this, are corporates well equipped to communicate meaningfully and efficiently with investors on sustainability issues? What is the role of investor relations in developing and executing the company’s sustainability agenda?

Join our upcoming webinar where we will discuss the critical role of IR managers in leading the company’s sustainable communications with financial markets and on the flipside, examine how investors approach ESG investment stewardship and the extent to which they factor in ESG considerations in their investment decisions.

Current programs

Our work to advance the practice of sustainability reporting in the region is made possible with the support of our generous donors - the Australian Department for Foreign Affairs & Trade (DFAT), the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida) and the Swiss Confederation’s State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO). Currently, our focus is on the following programs:

Our work with stock exchanges and regulators

Under the Sustainable Trade and Investment through Reporting program, we continue our important work with stock exchanges and regulators in Indonesia and the Philippines to drive uptake of sustainability reporting.

Driving business engagement on sustainability reporting

With support from SECO, we are running several initiatives to support businesses with sustainability reporting. Multi-stakeholder collaboration is a huge part of this work.

Across the region, we work closely with the ASEAN SMEs Academy and the ASEAN University Network (the Business Education and the ASEAN Economic Community theme group).

More specifically, in Indonesia, we are working with the Ministry of Trade in engaging 10,000 micro, small & medium enterprises with sustainability reporting by 2024. We have also initiated the Indonesia Sustainability Education Network in partnership with local universities to facilitate knowledge exchange.

In the Philippines, we are actively working with the private sector to integrate the SDGs into reporting and are also conducting a series of capacity-building workshops in partnership with the Philippine Swiss Business Council (PSBC).

ASEAN Office Consortium

Our consortium is a diverse set of Singapore-headquartered companies that help us raise GRI’s regional profile. We work together to leverage their track record in sustainability reporting, share best practices and provide learning opportunities.

The consortium includes the Singapore Stock Exchange, CDL and CapitaLand (real estate and development), Sembcorp and Keppel (energy and utility), DBS (banking), consulting firms TCS, PwC, KPMG and EY, as well as thought leadership organizations Stewardship Asia and Global Compact Network Singapore.
