GRI working with ASViS to support sustainable development
12 April 2019

GRI and The Italian Alliance for Sustainable Development (ASviS) have signed memorandum of understanding, kicking off a partnership to unite efforts to promote corporate social responsibility in relation to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
ASviS brings together over 200 of the most important institutions and networks of Italian civil society and was created to raise awareness of the importance of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and mobilize the wider Italian society and institutions in order to achieve the SDGs.

Tim Mohin, GRI’s Chief Executive said: “We look forward to collaborating more closely with ASviS as we work together on our shared interests, helping Italian enterprises improve their transparency and continue to achieve progress in making Agenda 2030 for Sustainable Development a reality.”

Enrico Giovannini, spokesman for ASviS, added: "The Sustainable Development Goals are essential to guarantee the corporate social responsibility of the private sector. The SDGs set out that companies should include sustainability information in their annual reports and provide inputs to shape companies’ strategies in the medium and long term. In this way, it is possible to transform current challenges into opportunities.”

With this agreement, the two organizations are committed to achieving synergies and to enhance activities and projects supporting a common direction: guiding companies to adopt approaches that contribute to sustainable development and promote responsible business practices. View the announcement from ASViS (in Italian).
